Have been mixing up my days this week with Alan Jackson and late 80’s/early 90’s hip hop. Alan Jackson makes me look forward to visiting home. The hip hop is great—specifically The Blue Scholars and Grandmaster Flash. It’s incredible to think about how the rap that has been on the radio for the past five years has evolved from this. The Blue Scholars and GF actually have a lot of good messages in their songs for the young ones. It’d be interesting to find out when in the history of the 90’s this changed. I’m guessing Snoop had something to do with that… or Tupac, or Dre, or Biggie… (sigh) all of whom I love.
